Development of a National Aviation Policy Statement

There has been a push for the development of a national aviation policy statement recently which called for submissions. It is worth noting that there are some very important names in aviation which have submitted comments on the issue paper, none more so than Ms Nancy-Bird Walton, who made a very clear submission regarding the sale of airports to developers.

Government Report on General Aviation

On the 6th of August 2008 a landmark report on the nation’s General Aviation industry - its current health and future challenges, was released. Definately a positive step by the government, but we’re not quite sure if it will be able to undo the damage that has been done by letting airports such as Hoxton Park convert into freehold titles that allow them to be wiped out by other industry or residential developments.

Please read the media release, or visit General Aviation page from the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Goverment website to see other related information regarding the report.
